Is/was it typhoid ? i have been advised to continue Taxim and Levomac 500 for another 5 days. What is my disease ?
The diagnosis of Typhoid can not be made only on the basis of fever. Typhoid is diagnosed by blood culture during first week & Widal test in second week. In your post, you have mentioned that blood c/s is -ve. If it is negative for Salmonella typhi & paratyphii, then Typhoid can be ruled out. However, improvement of conditions after intake of antibiotics indicates towards infective etiology. So, kindly continue the medications as advised by your treating Physician. Incomplete duration of treatment may result in recurrence of symptoms if the causative organism is not eradicated completely.
Wishing you a good health Take care.
