Frequent UTI For 1 Yr Old, Ultrasound Shows Cysts In Urinary Bladder. Is It Curable ?
Hello Doctor , My daughter is one year and 2 months old. Since her bith she got more than 4 times UTI problem and as per the doctor advice we went through Ultra sound scan with the result of smalls syst is abt 5mm in urinary bladder but after that doc asked us to do Urine C/s reuslt were no growth . till now we havent treat for this , now my question is how we will know she has cured of that?
Hello,
Urinary bladder cyst is mostly congenital, this is common with other congenital abnormalities like polycystic kidney disease etc.
There are also other causes for bladder cyst but they are uncommon in a child.
The symptoms of urinary bladder cyst are usually pain during urination, difficulty in urinating, fever ,weakness etc.
These symptoms ressembles UTI. and UTI is also common in bladder cyst.
Urine culture may not be positive for growth. and even if it is UTI there must be a minimum number of organism present for growth.
Get your child with USG report to a paediatric surgeon. He may suggest you better.
Take care.
Bye
