Frequent Eruption Of Tiny Red Bumps On The Lateral Surface Of Fingers On Waking Up, Severe Itching. History Of Shingles. Cause?
From time to time over the last 5 years or so I wake up in the morning with a few tiny red bumps on the lateral surfaces of my fingers. There is a tiny dark spot in the middle. The bumps are itchy and with this episode (4-5 concentrated on one digit) a bit of nerve pain . I thought for a long time I had been bitten by an insect, however my husband is never as fortunate- ie he never gets bitten or has the spots. In the past I have had 2 very small episodes of shingles , at a young age and a few over reactions to poison ivy. What could this possibly be? Is it contagious?
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic, As per your query you have frequent eruption of tiny red bumps on the lateral surface of fingers on waking up with severe itching. It appears from your query that you are suffering from "Pompholyx". It is a mild hypersensitivity reaction to the any of the chemicals or dust particles coming in the contact of skin surface. These particle enter to into the skin and then due to the fact that skin tries to push them away, it leads to the eruptions. You can do saline compression over the affected area for two times. Apply "Fluticasone" cream over the area for two times in a very thin layer. IF despite above treatment the things recurs then you can meet a dermatologist. Your herpes zoster is not related to this problem so kindly take your attention away from the zoster. Hope this information helps you. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help.
