Frequent Falling. All Tests Normal. Suggested Wearing Heart Monitor For A Month, Completely Off Coumidin. Any Ideas?

I have been falling of late (ten falls in all over one year ... three more recently. After hospitalization and many tests, with no results, my internal medicine doctor said I should wear a heart monitor for a month. He also is taking me completely off the Coumidin I've been on for several years. What do you think? Jo Ann

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The limited information provided is not sufficient enough to arrive at an appropriate conclusion...
You have not stated your personal habits, family history, or co-morbidities, even age or gender...which could influence the diagnosis and outcome...

You need investigations...
Postural hypotension, anaemia and so on are considered initially...
Neurologic assessment is generally necessary / MRI may be needed. MRA (MRI angiography) shows blood vessels and is generally done at the same sitting.
If there are no clues, you have to be investigated by a Cardiologist! / HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) is done to look for arrhythmia / silent (no symptom) ischemia. /      ECHOcardiogram is necessary to see the heart valves (Mitral Valve Prolapse) / heart muscle (Cardiomyopathy) and heart function (Ejection fraction, wall motion abnormality) / clots...
Discuss with your doctor

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
