Hi

Usually febrile convulsion is an isolated episode and does not happen again.

We need to find a cause for repeated viral infections. Usually repeated infections happen when the kid goes to day care or school and catches it from other kids. She should be investigated for reduced immunity.

Usually a safer medicine like paracetamol is enough for fever. Meftal P is Mefenamic acid and has more worrisome side-effects like abdominal pain, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, GI ulcers, edema, bronchospasm, headache, drowsiness, insomnia, visual disturbances, congestive heart failure, hypertension, tachycardia, syncope, urticaria, rash, thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis; tinnitus, elevated liver enzymes; abnormal renal function.
Potentially fatal side-effects include: autoimmune hemolytic anemia; convulsions

Thus it should not be prescribed in the setting of febrile seizures.

febrile convulsion does happens in some babies.this will continue till 5 yrs of age and after that it should stop by itself.u need to give that tablet everytime she develops fever.that tablet is to prevent convulsion.but get the dose of that tablet escalated by consulting the doctor as with advancing age babys weight increases and with weight dose increases.a baby may get 7-12 viral attacks in a yr which is quite normal
