Frequent Menstruation With Heavy Bleeding. Was Advised Against Surgery For Fibroid Tumors. Should I Take A Second Opinion?

Yes I am female, 42 years old. Have MS, three children. Told by doctor I have fibroid tumors and at first he said I needed surgery, now he says if I have no pain I probably don't need surgery. This month I had two cycles and the last one was very heavy. More so than ever before. I take daily injections of Copaxin. Could I be beginning menopause, or should I check with another doctor?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The pain and heavy flow could be related to fibroids or even early menopause, but this can only be confirmed with the help of a blood investigation to check on your hormone levels and an ultrasound to look into the fibroids.

A second opinion would help put your mind at ease with the diagnosis, so this is completely your choice. But the investigations would be a good idea.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
