Frequent Urination, Have Hemorrhoids, Kidney Stones, Burning Sensation While Urinating, Irritation In Anus. What May Be Wrong?

Hi, I returned from a European vacation and ever since I returned I have had the urge to urinate. I suffer from hemroids and kidney stones and assumed that is the problem. I also experience slight burning during urination, and some dribbling after urination. I noticed in the evening that after urinating I would have to urinate 3-4 more times in a 1 hour span. Some urine came out I had no issues with flow of urin, however there wasn't much. I went to doctor, did blood tests, hemo, and diabetes. No issues found. My wife thinks its the scented soup I use that may irritate my anus and penis. I am 40 years, and am physically active and run regularly, I also eat well most of the time.

Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

From your history it seems that you have got a urinary tract infection due to which you have got frequency and burning sensation while passing urine. If I were your doctor, I would advise you for a routine urine test followed by a culture sensitivity test of the urine to know the appropriate drug to be taken. A course of antibiotics will solve your problem.

If the urine test comes out to be normal, I would advise you for an ultrasound of kidney, ureter, bladder and prostate to rule out prostate enlargement. Even if you have not reached the age for benign hypertrophy of prostate, the dribbling of urine might be the effect of a BHP. In that case you have to take help of a Urologist.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic for clearing doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
