Friend Of Mine Has Been On Iv Infusion (vacomycin 1.75

Friend of mine has been on iv infusion (vacomycin 1.75 liters everyday.) His pic was just discharged and now the doctor has put him on antibiotic in pill form. He was telling me that he feels worse now than when he was on the vacomycin.. the reason for the iv infusion is he had a boil on his back and tried to pop it but nothing came out. Then he goes to the hospital (not sure of the time frame from when he tried to pop the boil and arriving at the hospital ER) but he had a severe staph infection. He has had 4 surgeries, they put screws in his neck due to removing so much bone and they also removed bone down his back (vertebrae). My concern is the staff infection is coming back and the pills are either not strong enough or he is allergic to the meds. Is there a reason he is feeling so badly? He says he just aches all over and no energy at all, and has a slight nausea feeling.
