Gagging And Throwing Up With Solid Diet. History Of Being On Only Liquid Diet For 7 Months Due To Illness. Suggest

after 7 months of following only a liquid diet due to an illness, I have now recovered but I have difficulty eating any solid foods. Some days, I can eat and other days I start gagging and then throwing up. At first I thought it was just the smooth texture that I didn't really like, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any suggetions

Hi, it may be the stricture of the esophagus, causing the difficulty, or it may be the spasm of the esophagus, in responce to the hard food.
you may need to have dialatation of the esophagus, so i advise you to consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe omeprazole, domperidone, and anaesthetic antacid.thank you.
