I would begin by asking you if you have had any symptoms of
chest infection such as cough or
fever with expectoration in the recent past. When you allowed water to spray down your mouth, its probable that it led to irritation of the throat and maybe even in the lower
respiratory tract. /this leads to cough and expectoration of respiratory secretions which is normal. However if you have any infection it is possible that you expectorated some phleghm.
Unless you have
asthma or a foreign body in your throat, it is unlikely to have a block or trap for your saliva. However if you did have a trap or block, it would have caused difficulty in breathing for you which you have not mentioned. your discharge from
sinuses could also cause some discharge of fluids to your throat. However if you have discomfort around tonsils it could mean that you again have an infection and you may need antibiotics for this.
However, if u have any difficulty in breathing or swallowing solids or liquids, then you must get your throat examined. also if u have noticed any change in your voice,
hoarseness,
weight loss or swellings in your body you must get yourself physically examined and investigated.
However, discharge of respiratory secretions on entry of water is normal and youshould not be too concerned about it.
