Given Keflex For The Swollen Lymph Node In Groin Which Has Not Given Any Relief. Anemic And Yellowish Discharge. What Shall I Do To Reduce Pain?

For one week I have had a grape size lump in my groin area. Questions I reviewed on here were consistent with the er's diagnosis of a swollen lymph node last Sunday the day it appeared. I was given keflex and sent home. This lump is so painful that I can now barely cross my right leg over the left. The lump has not gone down despite the antibiotics, and it has gotten more painful. This pain goes throughout my right hip and right lower back, sometimes with shooting pain down my right leg (the lump is on the right side). I am 28 yrs old and have 3 children, my youngest is 18mths and I had my tubes tied. I also have not gotten my period in 2 months. However on Thursday, I had brownish discharge which my mom said may be old blood. This subsided the next day, and now it is a yellowish discharge. The Ed doctor tested me for any STDS, and it was clear, I have only had one partner in 6 years. Some more medical issues I've been having that may relate is the amount of hair that I loose everyday. It literally falls out in clumps, and my hair has never been this thin. I used to have thick curly hair, and now it is pin straight and soooo thin. I am prescribed iron for anemia also. I am 5'6 and 125lbs. I am scared because of how painful it is to do everyday things, like lift up my daughter.... The pressure on my hip and groin/leg area where the lump is, is so painful when picking her up. Please tell me what to do. Hot compresses work for a moment and then it's painful when I take it off.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M.Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities for this lump associated with vaginal discharge , these includes.
1 Pelvic inflammatory disease , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a gynecologist .Vaginal swab will find out the exact nature of pathogens .
2 Pyoderma , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination.
3 Osteomyelitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by C T scan.As you mentioned that pain also present in hip joint ,so can not rule out ( osteomyelitis).
In my opinion consult a surgeon /gynecologist and get their opinion.
Good luck. Dr. HET
