Good afternoon,

I am very concerned. Last night my husband and I went to a bar to have some drinks on the way home around 11pm we were hungry and stopped in a local Brooklyn restaurant. It's very grungy but has great food. We sat and ate i got up asked for the check set back down. Talked for a bit but when I got up to leave I was pricked by something. I looked down at the chair but didn't see anything on it just a small broken circle on the vinyl cover. (It was dark in there and music was blaring because at night it turns into a restaurant/lounge) When I ran my hand over the seat it was smooth.

We walked two blocks home and I had my hubby check my butt cheek because the prick hurt. He said he did see like a red spot but there was no visible blood. Tipsy me didn't think much else and went to bed.

Today since I woke up ive been going crazy at work. Thinking what if I was pricked by a drug needle as a lot of 'characters' goto the place. I regret not looking on the floor or telling my husband right away. I even sent my hubby back today as he is off from work he confirmed the same that the vinyl restaurant chair had a small/medium hole but was smooth when he ran his hand over it too.

It honestly baffles me. He thinks it might have been a nail but it felt smaller to me but he says maybe the tip. I've also thought maybe a staple? I just don't get how. I sat and stood from the chair twice and all was fine. When I turned left to stand and get up out of the chair upon leaving was when I got pricked and jerked and stood up even faster lol. But like I said all was smooth when I looked down.

I am not scared of nails but I am scared if a druggie dropped a needle and I am at risk for HIV. What really bothers me is that I don't know what the heck pricked me. the hole in the vinyl is foam and isn't capable of cutting or poking. Like I said I didnt look on the floor but I do feel that if it were a drug needle i would've felt it when I sat down the first time. Even if the point wasn't vertical. I was wearing very thin leggings and would have felt if I was sitting on something. I even danced in my seat at one point..

I am considering going to urgent care or the ER after work to talk to them about Pep(an HIV prevention pill) but it does a number on your body and is very strong so I dont even know I want to take it.

HELP what should I do?? Do you think I'm at risk? What are the chances it was a drug needle someone dropped that got lodged into the chair? And do you think it would be big enough to see on the floor that a very tipsy me would notice even if I only looked at the chair and not actually at the floor under it?

What should I do?!
