HE HAD IT XRAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS A TUMOR BUT IT WAS NOT MALIGNANT, BUT IT CONTINUES TO GROW. HIS WEIGHT IS STEADY DECREASING BUT HE EATS. HE IS NOW STARTING TO VOMIT AFTER EATING. THE MASS ON HIS ARE WAS SOFT AT FIRST, BUT IS NOW STARTING TO HARDEN HE THINKS IT MIGHT BE CANCER BECAUSE HE IS LOSING WEIGHT.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

As the swelling over the arm is present for the past 16 years, it indicates that the swelling is BENIGN in nature (as benign tumours are generally slow growing).

But there is every chance that it might have undergone MALIGNANT transformation.

An open biopsy of the mass in indicated to know the histological diagnosis and confirms whether it is benign or malignant.

Further Management depends on the final diagnosis.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
