Hello,
I am able to understand your worry. 13 years back HBsAG was positive. At that time were you affected by the Icteric Hepatitis - B infection or it was found on a routine test.
Even healthy individual on routine test may show a HBsAG +ve report in the first time. Then they have to be further investigated for liver function test, to find out, is there any obvious infection of hepatitis B virus.
Usually following infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is detectable in the serum before liver function tests become abnormal and before development of clinical features of hepatitis. HBsAg tests usually become negative shortly after illness subsides.
Even after 4 to 6 months after the liver functions test becomes normal and the HBsAg test is positive they are called as Asymptomatic carrier. They have to undergo LFT every year.
You have done occasional blood test till last 3 years. The tests revealed that HBsAG + ve. Anyhow more important factor is whether you were obviously affected by hepatitis B virus, 13 years back. If you were not affected earlier nothing to worry.
If you were affected earlier and HBsAg test is positive whenever you test, then consult a Medical gastroenterologist
Best wishes
