Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI I had 14" of my bowel removed in 2011 at upstate Med. in Syr. NY and they had to opened me up and i have a scar from just below my sternum down and around my naval and then down to my pubic area, I have a baseball size hernia on the left side of the scar. My Dr. PCP said that if i have no pain and everything is working ok to just leave it alone as it is from the large intestine and they usually don't get strangled I had a 3 yr. colonoscopy done in Syr. and everything looked good from the inside. I just turn 70 and was wondering how evasive it would be to have it fixed or is it best to just live with the bulge if everything else is OK. Thanks
