Had HSG, Terrible Diarrhea, Having Intercourse, Terrible Bowel Pains. Reason?
I had an HSG on Monday with terrible diarrhea that night. Last night was the first night having intercourse and I awoke to terrible bowel pains. I went to the bathroom to pass stool - which started out as formed, and then became liquid. I am still feeling the bowel discomfort and unsure if this is somehow related to the HSG on Monday. Today is Friday - middle of the night. Thank you.
HSG should not rather cause diarrhea so it seems to be a coincidence. The most probable reason of diarrhea is an infection (viral or bacterial). Blood in stool, fever can also appear. Diarrhea caused by infection usually does not need medical attention and get healed by its own. However any diarrhea which does not improve, lasts more than 48 hours should be diagnosed with stool tests. Diarrhea can lead to dehydration when lasts long enough. You may notice decreased amount of urine.
As your diarrhea lasts quite long, I suggest you to visit your doctor, have stool tests and stool culture test. Antibiotics might be necessary.
Hope this will help. Regards.
