Had LAVH With Ovaries Kept. Need Information About The Healing Process
I am one week post op from having my LAVH with ovaries kept. I don't see alot of information about the healing process time for this type of surgery. Can you give me some guidelines on what to expect? i.e. the dissolving stitches and itches, swelling, how many weeks the healing process will take compared to the abdominal hysterectomy. Am I to return to my regular walking regimen? Thank You
Hello, Welcome to Healthcaremagic. from your query, I understood that you had Laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy. As compared to Abdominal hysterectomy you will have faster recovery from surgery. Usual recovery time from surgery after LAVh is 4 weeks some time 6 weeks. It depends upon the indication of LAVH and Associated health conditions.
Avoid weight lifting, strenuous activity and driving for at least 10 days after surgery for rapid recovery from surgery. Use stool softener if you have constipation.
Hope this helps. Take care.
