Had LLETZ Procedure For An Abnormal Pap Smear Report. Copper Coil Removed. Have Bleeding. Suggestions?

Hi, I had an abnormal smear in January. I had a lletz treatment which removed all abnormal cells. I also had my copper coil removed. Now I am having vaginal bleeding around the time my period is due however it only really happens when I urinate or have a bowel movement and its been this way for 10 days. Any idea what it may be?

Dear Laura, welcome to healthcare magic.
You should visit your doctor to have an examination and an ultrasound.
There are many causes of vaginal bleeding but most important in your case is to exclude recurrence of the abnormal cells removed before by LLETZ. This can be excluded by visual inspection of your cervix and possibly colposcopy +/- another biopsy.
Other causes of your condition include early pregnancy, vaginal infection, hormonal imbalance, bleeding tendency...etc.
I hope I was useful. Good luck.
Dr. Ahmed Bahaa.
