Had MRI That Shows Herniation, Posterior Displacement Of Nerve Root, Have Weakness. Go For Epidural Injection?
Had MRI that shows L4-5 central and left paracentral dis herniation abutting the medial aspect of the left neural foramen with mass effet upon and posterior displacement of the left L5 nerve root. Have left leg weakness in all muscles determined from EMG. Is surgery recommended or can I have epidural injection to fix?

As you have established weakness in the leg muscles of the involved side, there is no role for conservative management in the form of medications and Epidural injections.
Definitely, surgical decompression of the disc is indicated lest it may cause irreparable damage to the muscles as untreated denervated muscle tissue will be replaced by fibrous tissue once for all.
