Had POP Surgery, Mesh Removal Surgery, Hysterectomy, Vaginal Pain, Bleeding While Urinating. Reason?
I had POP surgery in 2005 and 3 revission surgeries following. On Aug. 1st 2013 I had mesh removal surgery and hysterectomy. He was not able to remove all of the mesh or the arms of the mesh. This is week nine and I am still having vaginal pressure pain and bleeding red blood throughout the day but espessially every time I urinate. I have seen my doctor over the past few weeks and he said I am healing normally and to continue to use the hydrocodone for pain. Is this common?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The persistent bleeding after a hysterectomy is not common. Taking pain killers will mask the pain but will not remove the actual pathology. You need to get an MRI scan of the lower abdomen done to find out the exact cause of bleeding. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
