Had Sebaceous Cyst Drained. Prescribed Antibiotic Cream Which I Missed A Few Days. Cyst Is Growing Bigger. Suggestions?
Hello, I had a sebacious cyst drained to the best of their ability about 2-3 weeks ago. I was prescribed anti-biotic cream for it to prevent further infections. I've used it for 2 weeks, but didn't use it for a few days because of coast to coast travel and just forgetting from all the excitment from vacation.
I've noticed it starting to get a little bigger again, I squeezed it really hard to try and drain what I could myself but nothing came out. Is it just swollen skin and flesh from having it cut open and twisted open? Or does it just keep filling up with fluid and material forever until I have the core sac completely removed?
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. You asked the question and answered it too! A sebaceous cyst will keep on recurring unless the whole sac has been removed in toto. Simply opening the cyst and draining it, is of no help. As the cyst has enlarged again, its better that you get it surgically excised. Hope that answered your query. Take care
