Had A Robotic Hysterectomy. Pap Came Positive For Hpv, Taken Again Came Negative. Now Positive For Squasmos. Recommendations?
Hi I had a robotic hysterectomy last july , My first pap since came back positive for hpv high risk not 16 or 18 , i had a biopsy of the vaginal cuff after and that was normal , i then went to another dr concerned about the positive hpv so he did another pap his is normal negative hpv but now i am positive for a typical squasmos i am very confused and worried about the results especially since i do not have a cervix or uterous ?? What does this all mean for me
After removal of uterus and cervix, they might have taken pap smear from the vaginal cuff. Usually vagina will contain squamous epithelium only. So you have to find out whether the squamous epithelium is showing any dysplastic changes. If tissue is normal without any dysplastic changes no need to worry. You discuss this thing with your gynecologist and get clarification. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
