Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Had a shot of cortisone in my CMC joint 3 weeks ago now. I was originally dx with De Quervains tendinosis and had injection last year and was casted for 3 weeks and also went through OT. In June after failed conservative treatment I was supposed to have release done but I had a major accident with impaction injuries bilateral wrist and hand and shoulder and so my doctor postponed the surgery. I had also injured my left leg so I was unable to put weight on my leg and no weight on my shoulders and hands and wrists (it turned out I had dislocated my shoulder as well as had a SLAP type II tear and calcium deposits on the supra and infraspinatus tendon attachments) well back to my left wrist and thumb. So with all of that happening my left thumb and wrist were still painful and my physician sent me out for some Rheumatoid blood work all were negative. I then was told I have hypermobility syndrome. Since it has been 3 weeks post injection I have had NO RELIEF. I have increased pain and my thumb has been cramping and spasming. I work on a computer as well all day so I have terrible pain by the end of the day which I only take ibuprofen. What should I do?
