Had An MRI For A Torn Rotator Cuff. Pain In Chest And Had A Broken Rib. Will The MRI Show A Tear In Pectoral Muscle?
I have had an mri for a torn rotator cuff. I had my bicep removed and two tears repaired. I had also been complaining about pain in my chest and later found out that I had broken a rib during my injury. I keep complaining about a pain in my pectoral muscle, but its never addressed. Would a tear in a pectoral muscle show up in a soulder mri for a rotator cuff tear?
Hello and welcome to HCM, MRI investigation is done to know the structural details of soft tissues. soft tissue includes muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves, fibrous tissue etc. Any tear in soft tissue, abnormality of spinal cord, inter-vertebral disc abnormalities, etc can be viewed on MRI. Since, you have had rib fracture, there could be associated tear of the muscles and injury to other structures also. You can get MRI done for the detection of the tear.
