I had an endoscopy completed today with a throat dilation. For the last couple of months I have had varied symptoms from dehydration, to variation in blood presure, rapid heart beat, to a a weird numb feeling in the left side of my back, to extreme burping, and difficulty swallowing and breathing to constipation. I usually feel that the breathing is better after burping. I have had acid reflux for money years and have been on omneprazole since 2011. An allergist I saw said he though I had costochronditis and LPR due to the feeling of a lump in my throat all the time and sensation of choking, along with shortness of breath and rib pain. At any rate, I went to the gastroenterologist today to have an endoscopy done, and he said he would do a throat dilation only if needed. Now I get home, and my wife who was able to talk to the doctor said that he told her that he saw no need for the dialtion but did it anyway in hopes that it would relieve some of my symptoms. Now I'm at home, my throat feels huge, along with any even bigger lump in my throat feeling. I'm wondering if I made a mistake going in. What if this feeling is irreversible? Will the "huge throat" and huge lump" feeling of throat dilation eventually go away, and will I again feel normal and will my swallow again feel normal? I'm pretty freaked out right now that I had something potentially irreversible done to my throat that my doctor told my wife may not have even been needed to be done.
