Had Bleeding And It Is Longer Than A Period. Terrible Cramps And Took Tampon. What Could It Be?

Hello I recently have had bleeding and it has been a lot longer than a normal period and the other night I had terrible cramps which I don't ever have and the next morning it was very painful and i noticed something that came out when i took out my tampon. it fell out. it looked like a mussel (the seafood) it was gray/fleshy had a little blood on it and i have seen tissue type things before but nothing like this... it was at least the size of a quarter. Can you help tell me what it was?

Hi,
Sometimes uterine polyp or other growth (malignancy) can shed like this along with lot of pain. Kindly get examined & get one transvaginal ultrasound done, to be sure that nothing is wrong in the uterus.
Wish you good health.
