Hi Prashanth, Thanks for posting your query. The history, symptoms of quadriplegia and the treatment all indicate the your brother has a very serious disease affecting the nervous system. Most likely the disease is Guillain Barre syndrome but it can be due to other problems like myasthenia gravis, peripheral neuropathy, periodic hypokalemic paralysis etc. to name a few. IV-Ig is the gold standard of treatment for GBS, although the steroids also can be tried but with less apparent benefit. Patients show slow and variable recovery. in these disorders at times it takes long time and is only partial. Nervigen is a combination of calcium, pantothenate and lipoic acid and is a good supotive drug although no apparent benefit is visible with this treatment. Hope I have answered your query.
