Had Depo Shot. Will Have Unprotected Sex Within 5 Days From Depo Shot Reduce The Strength Of The Shot?
I know I should call my dr, but I have a few questions about the depo shot. 1) if I had intercourse in the first five days of getting the shot and it was unprotected, does the shot still have full strength? 2) does dioxicyclin or keflex affect the shot? And 3) should I expect a period within the first month after getting on the shot? I received my last period April 3 to April 7. Got the shot April 16th and expect my next period may 1st.

After going through your history, depo shot protection depends on when it was given, takes one week to take effect if given after the first five days of the period cycle, as in your case.It is advisable to use barrier methods like condom during initial period to avoid pregnancy.
Effective immediately if given during the first five days of the period cycle.
In the first months of use irregular or unpredictable bleeding or spotting, or rarely, heavy or continuous bleeding.
There is no drug interaction between the depo shot and antibiotics you have asked.
This depo shot can cause decreased bone density on long term use that iss osteoporosis so please consult your Gynecologist.
