Had Ear Infection, Slight Fluid In Ear, Diarrhea, Diaper Rash, Refusing Food. Took Amoxilin
hi doctor My 8 month old baby had ear infection twice in the last 2 months (middle ear infection) and is treated with amoxilin . She had severe diarrhea and diaper rash and doctor advised me to stop amoxilin . Even after that she suffered for 4 to 5 days and then it got controlled with the help of medication . Now i observe her pulling her ears and also there is slight fluid or wax when i examine her ear with a normal light . I am worried if her infection is still there . She is refusing food and i am not sure if she is teething . i am confused with the symptoms of ear infection and teething
Hi, ear infections occur usually at this child age.
The antibiotics help to relieve the infection but sometimes there is residual liquid inside the ear. It is because of this liquid that your child pull her ears. Usually this liquid resolves spontaneously( up to 3 months), and you do not need to treat with antibiotics any more.
Refusing of the food is because of teething, you may use local gel to relieve the teeth ache.
If the child has high temperature than you have to consult the doctor again.
