Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your anxiety, but although itchy breasts can at times indicate cancer, it is not recognized as a cancer symptom, as it is highly non-specific. Breast cancer will have more definite symptoms, and so itchy breasts need not be given that much importance.

But, before anything else, itchy breasts are related to more simple problems like eczema, intertrigo, etc. These conditions commonly cause itchiness of the breasts, especially in women with larger breasts.

I would advise you to visit your doctor, who will prescribe topical medication, which will surely get rid of your symptoms. Only if these symptoms are not relieved with treatment prescribed for such conditions, can we go ahead with a mammogram to rule out cancer. For now, I doubt cancer would be a possibility in your case. Wishing you lots of luck and a speedy recovery.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
