Had Fissurectomy For Anal Fissure. Taking Pain Killer, Antibiotic, Diltigestic Gel, Pain Persists. Pain Normal, Role Of Gel?
hi doctor good evening, i had anal fissure and did fissurectomy before 12 days ago. Still i m taking pain reliver . without pain reliver feeling difficulty during defecation. Continuously using antibiotics and pplying Diltigesic Gel. So, what is the role of this gel ?a nd pain still persisting is it normal process? thanks

Anal fissure is due to spasm of internal & external anal sphincter and passage of hard stools.
Diltigesic ointment contains diltiazem and it is a calcium channel blocker.
It helps in relaxation of anal sphincters and cure of anal fissure.
You should apply diltigesic ointment along with lignocaine.
You should also take hot sitz bath three times in day; half fill of bath tub with lukewarm water and sit in it 20-30 min. This also helps in relaxation of anal sphincter.
It will take 5-7 days for cure.
