Had Food Poisoning, Nausea And Vomited. Ended Up Rupturing Or Lacerating Abdominal Muscles. Guidance?
I had a case of bad food poisoning (unrefrigerated food for 6 hours) which I ate on Sat ~midnight, the next morning I had a strong bout of nausea and vomited which lasted about 2 hours. It was pretty strenuous affair and I may have ended up rupturing or lacerating either my upper right abdomen muscles or perhaps an organ (liver, pancrease ?) because as of today 2 day later I'm in alot of pain. The pain doesn't go away, I can't move very well, sitting or laying down helps alittle but still hurts. Can someone give me some advice. I can't see my doctor until later this week bcz he is all booked up.
When vomiting, abdominal muscles need to push your abdomen really hard. If you have been vomiting few times during this 2 hours, it could overload abdominal muscles. Such hard muscles work leads to muscles sores. You could have such pain before after some exercises. This is very normal thing and does not have to indicate any problem. Such pain should go away in few days.
Liver or pancreas trauma due to vomiting is hardly possible. Liver trauma usually does not hurt. Internal bleeding is the only symptom (what gives weakness, pale skin, accelerated heart rate).
I suggest you to wait few days and see if the pain will go away. If not, abdominal ultrasound should be done.
Hope this will help. Regards.
