Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
I appreciate your concern,You had Gestational Diabetes and in pregnancy it is best to control blood sugar level with diet and Insulin,I presume everything went smoothly and now you are worried about resolving of GD.
Usually blood sugar comes to normal level once baby is born and physiological stress is over may be in few weeks but remember if it was your first pregnancy then in second pregnancy to have GD is 30 to 80%.
If you are having other risk factors like positive family history ,obesity, and insulin resistance such women have more risk of developing Diabetes in future.
Your blood sugar is reasonably controlled if you are taking Metformin at present it is also considered safe during lactation. I hope you get normal blood sugar level soon even without drugs but take care of diet and exercise to be healthy.
Take care
Good Luck

Hello,
If you have gestational diabetes, there is a very good chance that your diabetes will go away immediately after the delivery. This is especially true if your diabetes was controlled with only a meal plan and exercise during pregnancy. You should continue to check your blood glucose levels for at least several weeks to make sure your diabetes is actually gone. Women with a history of gestational diabetes frequently develop type 2 diabetes later, though, so check  your sugar levels regularly.
Although your post prandial sugar levels are a bit high, you must take all the dietary precautions like calorie restriction like avoiding junk foods and colas.
Keep doing regular exercises and reduce your weight and try to be n required range of your BMI.
Remember 2 out of 3 gestational diabetic patients develop diabetes type 2 in next 10 to 15 years.
If the diabetes persists for even few months after delivery, then most likely your diabetes was a type 2 diabetes even before your pregnancy.
Thanks
