Had Hip Fracture, After Accident, Bed Rest. Suggest Calcium Medicine?

Good afternoon doctor,
I am Vidya Gupta 48 year old women, recently 9 days back I have a hip bone fracture( Neck of the Femur broken ) due to hit by a motor cycle,
Pl. Suggest which calcium medicine shall I take for quick recovery I am on bed rest as suggested by my surgeon

Hello Vidhya ji,
Welcome at HCM.

If you really had the neck of femur fracture then i will not suggest you take rest until unless there are other co morbid conditions which are acting as contra indication for surgery.

The best results after fracture neck femur are obtained after surgery.

It looks that your fracture is undisplaced one.My answer may look you odd but this is best advice for you & with help of this you may also start walking earlier then other mode of treatment.The only thing you have to do is to consult to a good orthopedic doctor.

You may continue to have calcium.The coral calcium or calcium citrate preparations with calcitriol or vitamin D are good for you.
