Had Hole In The Heart That Healed On Its Own. Why Am I Having Heart Murmur?
I am a 28 year old male, 5 ll, 160. I have had a heart murmur my whole life.. I was born with a hole in my heart that healed on its own. if the hole healed why do i still have a murmur? new doctors seem concerned when they hear it until i tell them i ve always had it. It is weighing on my mind because of a dream i had the other night where i was in a ufo and a doctor placed a socket up to my chest and written on it was the word diastolic and the letter d jumped into my conscious then she said i have heart failure .

There are some other reasons for heart murmur like so called flow murmurs due to regurgitation of blood flow along the valves.
Nowadays, it is all easy to confirm with Echo and colour Doppler,
You are a young person,and need not worry about this.
please get a repeat echo done and clear your doubts.

The whole might not have healed completely – a small residue might be remaining.
There may be other causes that can be highlighted after the closure of the hole.
There may be other causes acquired after birth.
So on so forth.
You need not worry unnecessarily.
The murmur is most likely haemo-dynamically – clinically – NOT significant.
You have no other symptom...
Smaller the defect, louder the murmur!
It is simple to evaluate.
See your doctor –
An ECHOcardiogram will clarify most of them.
It is cheap and non-invasive.
Why then sit down and worry?
