Had Intercourse During Periods, Hurting, Burning Sensation, Itchiness. Should I Use Lube During Periods?
My boyfriend and I tried sex during my period last night. It felt alright at first, but it started hurting/burning when he would thrust and nearly come out of me and we had to stop. I ended up being very red and somewhat itchy this morning. I am the only sexual partner he has ever had. I was checked last month and was STD free as well. Did I just need to use lube because of my period?
Hi,
Thanks for query,
Sex during menses is a matter of personal preference and cultural beliefs.
Medically, it is safe to have sex during your period.
Sex may help relieve pre or post menstrual symptoms if you get an orgasm.
Endorphins released during an orgasm are natural painkillers and mood lifters, which can allay cramps, headaches, irritability associated with periods.
Some women claim enjoying sex more when they are menstruating because of the feelings of fullness in the pelvic and genital areas.
It does not harm the male partner.
You can enjoy freely as there is no risk of pregnancy.
Lubrication mix with menses can cause different or no effect.
Thanks.
