Had Irritation, Used Equate Kit For Vaginal Infection. Now Have Spotting From Vagina. Suggest?

I am 73 years of age. I had some irritation a couple of weeks ago and purchased an equate kit for vaginal infections. I got better, but now I am having some spotting from the vagina. I wondered if this might be coming from the ointment that I used, Since it is a small amount and has just started should I contack my Physician about this o is it a side effect.

Hello ma'am.

An equate kit is used once a vaginal infection is confirmed, in your case your symptoms (which have not stated) could be related to a number of conditions.

Now as you have reported an improvement, but the prrsence of spotting. This could very well be a side effect to te medication or even the sign of the infection still being prevalent or some other underlying condition. If this last for more than 48 hours I would request you to schedule a visit to your doctor.

Hope this helps ma'am.

Best wishes.
