Had Issues With Eustachian Tube Remaining Open At Inappropriate Times, Ear Problem.

Hi, I am a 28 year old male in good health. For the past several years, I have had issues with my eustachian tube remaining open at inappropriate times. It can occur randomly, though it most frequently occurs when I run, especially when it is cold out. Sometimes it is a minor annoyance. Other times, I get dizzy and nauseous because middle ear is pressurizing and depressurizing with every single breath. It can also be painful to blow my nose because of the pressure increase in my middle ear. The other time that it occurs is when I m speaking publicly, which is especially problematic because it makes it difficult to speak when my voice is echoing in my ear. I have taken propranolol for nervousness, which has also helped the ear problem during public speaking. However, I have been running several times a week for the past couple years and this issue is becoming more of a problem. Is there anything I can do about this? Thank you! Jordan

Hi, Jordan, It is a problem of the E.N.T. of course there is interference of the eustachian tube, but the basis is is some where else like sinuses, pharynx, nose etc.
So i advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. I also advise you to gargle with the lukewarm salt water daily twice, along with other medication. Thank you.
