What Are The Side Effects Of Propranolol 40mg?

I was given propranolol 40mg 2x daily about 2 weeks ago for prevention of headaches. However I have had swollen ankles and tingling in my hands and finger keep falling asleep so I looked online and these are listed as serious side effects so I want to stop taking it, but I want to make sure I do it properly. How should I stop taking it?

Propranolol 40 mg belongs to the class of medications known as beta blockers. It is used to treat high blood pressure, control heart rhythm in atrial fibrillation, relieve angina, prevent migraines, reduce shaking or essential tremors, help with medical conditions involving the thyroid and adrenal glands and support heart function after a heart attack.

Side effects of Propranolol are slower heart rate, diarrhoea, dry eyes, hair loss, nausea, weakness, tiredness, swelling of legs,feet or ankles, tingling sensation in hands and fingers, drowsiness, sleepiness, breathing problems, hypoglycemia, allergic reactions etc. If you suffer from side effects of Propranolol, immediately inform your doctor for medical help. He will advise you how to stop taking medication if you need to quit.
