Dear Subrata
Most of the lower abdominal pain is due to presence of Urinary pathologies like renal stone or Urinary tract infections. Since you are saying USG was done didnt detect but X-ray showing something in the tract is rare ... but since it is there better start treatment to lyse the renal stones so
Put him on Tab.norflox 400 1tab Two times a day for minimum of 10 days
Tab.Tamfil F 1 tab in morning and 1\2 a tab at night
Tab.voveran 50mg 1 tab if pain present
Tab.Ranitidine 1 tab two times a day before food
Syp. Citralka 2tsp in 1 galss of water at night

Hope this helped you

Hi,
From history you were telling about your brother, the complaints and by the investigation results
It seems to be a calculi in the ureto-vesicular Junction. Calculi are originated in the kidney, stays there and increases in size.
Some time it descends in to ureter and reach the bladder or some time it gets blocked in between.
Usually and for your brother it is a calcium stone , why because it is visible (radio opaque) in the X-Ray. Other less common is uric acid stone which may not be visible in the X-Ray. But both the stones can be identified by USG. Sometime if the stone is very small in size, or lot of gas in small or large intestines USG can't locate it. Repeat the scan once again to assess the location and effect of block in the ureter. Being small in size, avoiding milk, tomato and by drinking plenty of water the stone may descend to bladder and come out. Some tabs are available for urinary calculus. If it produces complications like severe pain and ureterc dilation on that side consult a urologist for further management.
Best wishes

hi.. i went through your query... the radio opaque shadow might be a calculi in the ureter or it may be a calcified omentum lying outside the ureter and maybe irritating the ureter causing the pain... or it may also just be a calcified peritoneal membrane causing irritation and diffuse pain.. usually x rays are not as specific as ultrasound for diagnosing calculi.. the calculi may be missed during the ultrasound.. i suggest you go for a repeat ultrasound..

Hi and welcome to HCM.
This sounds like ureteral colic caused by stone and it casue such smytoms definitely. He should take certain teas and lot of fluids. If symptoms persist then some other disorders may be considered. But it seems like it is ureter issue. There are some medicines called spasmolytic which can be helpful too. Consult your doctor about it.

Hi ! There is no mention on the bowel habits of your brother. Sometimes amebiasis also causes such kind of chronic nagging pain in the lower abdomen. However, as you are already diagnosed as having a tiny calculi in your ureter, you should also consult a urologist to exclude this as a cause for your lower abdominal pain. Good luck.

Hi Subrata
Welcome to HCM and thanks for posting your query here.
Tiny calculi means a small stone in the ureter. It is called as renal colic. The stone in the ureter causes stretching of the ureter and the muscles surrounding it will be in spasm. This causes the pain. The stone travels from the kidney to the renal pelvis-ureter-ureterovesical junction-bladder-urethra-passing out. So the pain depends on the passage of the stone. If the size of the stone is less than 3mm, in most of the cases it will pass out in the urine. If the size is more than 5 mm other methods like Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy or open lithotomy may be adopted.
Antispasmodics like proxyvon or dicyclomine can be used to relieve the pain. Intake of more fluids will cause passage of the caliculi through urine which can be noticed.
Some of the food items like Custard apple, palak, tomatoes, milk should be taken in less quantities so that the renal caliculi problem will not recur.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks

Hallo,
Ureteral calculi is related to both stone size and location.
Kidney stones are rock like masses with in the urinary tract formed by the Crystallization of various elements excreated in the urine,
Common types of kidney stones are composed of calcium oxalate, calcium phasphate, uric acid or magnesium ammonium phosphate
When kidney stones travel to the ureters [ tubes that connect the kidneys to the bladder] they become ureteral stones. Ureteral stones are more likely to cause pain and discomfort than kidney stones.
Symptoms of kidney or ureteral stones include pain in the upper back, upper abdomen or high on the side of the abdomen.
Causes for stones are ,Dietary factors that increase the risk of stone formation includes low fluid intake, and high dietary intake of animal protein, sodium, refined sugars, fructose, oxalate, grape fruit juice , apple juice and cola drinks.
Prevention,
The best prevention against calculi involves enough fluid consumption to produce two liters of urine a day.
In Ayurveda,
Dieuretic therapy is one of the recognized medical therapies for prevention of stones.
1.Drink BANANA TREE STEM JUICE 100ml twice daily.
2.Drink coconut water 100 ml twice daily.
3.Take CYSTONE Tablet two times daily
