Had Missed Abortion. Took Misoprostal And Meftal For Pain Relief. Having Heart Burn, Acidity And Gas. Suggest?

Hi. I am Anushree. I just had a missed abortion at 6 weeks. Waited for 3 weeks before taking any action. Finally last saturday I took 4 tablets of Misoprostol tablets ( 2 in morning and 2 in the night). My doctor even prescribed Meftal-SPAS 3 times for 3 days for pain relief. But I just took 2 tablets, one with the first dose of Misoprostol and the other later in the night when I had major pain due to which I was not able to sleep. Today I checked the wrapper of Meftal, and it says analgesic and antispasmodic. I am a little confused that whether it is a pain reliever or analgesic?
Since last 3 days I am having severe heart burn, acidity and gas. As soon as I eat something I get heart burn. Should I take all the dose of Meftal-SPAS?

Meftal-SPAS is an analgesic as well as an anti-spasmodic as it contains Mefenamic acid and Dicyclomine. Mefenamic acid acts as an anti-prostaglandin agent as well and hence is used to treat uterine pain. It should be taken with food as it can cause gastritis when ingested on empty stomach. Your symptoms suggest gastritis. Please take an antacid, avoid spicy food and take cold milk to relieve the acidity. You need not take the whole prescription of Meftal-SPAS if you do not have any pain. Hope this helps. Wish you good health.
