Had Oral Sex. Had Itching In Throat. Have Cough, And Sneezing. Cause?
Good day,
I had oral sex earlier this week...lets say Tuesday at 2pm and when I went to sleep that night I experienced sever itching to the point when I had to wake up 10 times to go spit because of how unbearable the itching was. Felt like sand paper scratching my throat. The next morning I gargled with salt water and the itching went away but my throat is now hoarse, I've been coughing, sneezing and experience slight flu like symptoms. This is the first time this has ever happened can you please tell me whats the problem.
Its now Thursday and I'm still sneezing a bit and I have to be trying to clear my throat at time.
From your description, there are two possibilities, -an allergic reaction or -an infection of the throat.
the throat is a very sensitive area when it comes to both infections and allergy. Sneezing, running nostrils and throat irritation are most often associated to allergy. However, when there is associated fever, headache etc, an infection should be ruled out.
I will advice you meet a doctor and for at least a throat swap for testing and for appropriate measures to be taken.
Best regards Dr Achuo
