Had Pain In Neck, Headache, Pressure In Gland, Ear And Eye. Had Injection In Skull. Is It Neuralgia?

I recently had an injection at the base of my skull to treat me for pain and tightness on left side neck, headaches, and feeling as though I had pressure in gland, ear and left eye. Is the myalgia the same as neuralgia and how severe is this condition? I'm a dental hygienist and not sure if my job is finally causing some damage after 27 years.

Hello and welcome to hcm,

Trigeminal neuralgic pain can be treated using analgesics.
Avoid stress,anxiety.
Take intervals and adequate rest in between your job works.
Also check whether there is sinus infection.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Hygienist job has nothing to do with neuralgic pain.
Take rest until you becomes physically fit.
Hope this helps.

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

myalgia is pain having muscular origin, while neuralgia is pain due to nervous origin.

In case of muscle twitch or spasm, tightness etc, muscle relaxants are injected to relieve the symptoms.

while in case of damage to any part of nerve tissue or continuous irritation to nerves, causes neuralgia.

In this case particular nerve is treated to relieve resulting pain or numbness.

Hope it helps.

Take care.

Thanks.
