Hello ,
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain associated with canine tooth after orthodontic treatment is due to dentine hypersensitivity.
There is chance of wearing of enamel during orthodontic appliances are inserted.
The lump may be arised due to abscess formed from periodontal infection.
I would suggest you to get a thorough clinical evaluation by your dentist.
Thorough scaling has to be done.
Sensitive teeth has to be restored using tooth coloured filling material.
Use desensitizing toothpaste and interdental toothbrush to clean your teeth.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
The lump has to be curetted and drained.
Take care.

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

I understand that you had braces when you were around 14 years. Post the removal of braces the left canine started paining and subsequently you developed an abscess. There is a possibility that there was a trauma to the canine which has caused the pulp to be injured and hence there is an periapical infection in the form of abscess [collection of pus]
I would advise you to go to a dentist who can take an xray for the tooth and see the cause of your pain. Lukewarm saline will help till then.

Take Care

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical history i suppose that you have developed infection in your canine tooth and there is collection of abscess in the surrounding structure tissue leading to the formation of lump.
There can be a chance of excessive wear in the enamel surface when you were wearing the braces.
I would suggest you to visit the Dentist and get the thorough clinical examination done take an x-ray of the tooth, Drainage of the abscess is required.
Go for complete mouth scaling and polishing.
Take a course of antibiotics and analgesics.
If the tooth is restorable can filled with a tooth coloured filling material or if the infection is deep Root canal Treatment can be performed followed by prosthetic crown placemant.

Hope this helps out.

Hello there ,

Thanks for writing your query,

According to your clinical history i assume you have developed a abscess in the canine area due to trauma to the gingiva or the tooth surface by orthodontic appliance.

Abscess can be related to tooth due to which your canine hurts or the abscess can be confined to the gums alone.

This can be confirmed only after x ray examination.

exact diagnosis can be made only after clinical examination and evaluation by taking radiographs and accordingly treatment can be planned.

approach a dentist for the treatment.

i hope this helps,

take care.
