Had Partially Protected Sex. Taking Ciprofloxacin. Late Period. Reason?

I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant. My fiancé and I have engaged in sexual activities but never ejaculated inside of me or around my vagina. He did touch my clitoris with dry semen on his hands and we did have anal sex but he didn't ejaculate inside me however BEFORE he ejaculated his penis came close to my vagina but NOT inside. I'm now on ciprofloxacin and this is my second day. My periods are irregular but this one is 2 days late. Maybe it will start next week, is it the ciprofloxacin?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
As mentioned by you, if you have a history of irregular periods, this might also be one such situation.
Ciprofloxacin does not affect periods in any way. If you are under birth control pills, the efficacy of the pills might be decreased in taking ciprofloxacin.
If you dont get your periods even after a week after expected, please do a home pregnancy test 15 days after probable sexual contact.
Hope this helps.
