Had Period Twice In A Month. Is It A Sign Of Perimenopause? Physical Examination Needed?

My last period started November 10th and I just started again this evening with another period. I just turned 48 and am wondering if I might be going into perimenopause. I did have some breast tenderness for the past couple of days and thought I was feeling like I was having pre-period symptoms, but then dismissed it because it was too soon. but sure enough I started bleeding. Should I go in and have my doctor check what's going on?

Many women face problem of irregular or excessive bleeding before menopause, It is a normal phenomenon.just wait and watch for your next period and if its irregular just get a routine checkup with a gynaecologist to rule out uterine and cervical pathologies as health check up after cartain age is important. Ultrasound, PAP smear are routine investigations she would offer.
