Had Pneumonia And Bronchitis About 6 Weeks Ago. I Am Still Coughing And Yellowish Brown Mucus
I had pneumonia and bronchitis about 6 weeks ago. I am still coughing up yellowish brown mucus, and I have sharp pain in my left lung when I try to breathe deeply. Is this normal? How long does pneumonia usually take to clear up? (If it matters, I am also asthmatic).
Hello and welcome to healthcare forum.
Your history and symptoms are suggestive that you are not completely cured from pneumonia as you still have productive cough that is infective as it is yellow and chest pain.
Go for lab test of culture and sensitivity of your sputum which will detect the causative bacteria as well as proper antibiotic against them. After that consult your doctor with this report for further management.
Best wishes for your health.
Hi,
Thanks for query,
Pneumonia usually takes 6-8 weeks for cure.
There are stages of pneumonia for improvement.
last stage is stage of resolving, after that it is cured.
As you are asthmatic, symptoms takes still more time to clear.
ok and bye.
