Had Sex. Took Postinor 2. Have Stomach Cramps, Missed Periods. Pregnant? Side Effects Of Tablet?

I had sex with my bf on the 19th October ,exactly 2 weeks after my period and the condom broke. I took Postinor 2 within 12 hours of the broken condom and i didnt have sex since.The Postinor 2 pill did not bring my period but i am getting slight stomach cramps. Is there any possible chance i can still become pregnant? How long does the side effects of taking postionor 2 last in your system?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In case of regular periods, you had intercourse around the time of ovulation. But, as you used emergency contraceptive pill within 12 hours, the possibility of pregnancy is less.

Emergency contraceptive pill can alter the menstrual cycle depending on the period of the cycle when the tablet was taken. As you took the pill towards the second half of the cycle, it might have postponed your periods. For more details: http://srsree.blogspot.in/2012/08/emergency-contraceptive-pill-short-term.html.

Possibly, you will get your periods soon. If you do not get your periods on expected date, go for urine pregnancy test once.The half life of postinor 2 tablet is around 36 to 40 hours.

So, the symptoms you are having, could be due to hormonal effect during premenstrual phase. Till getting withdrawal bleeding, you can take symptomatic treatment for them.
