Had Sex On All Three Days Prior Ovulation. Pregnancy Test Negative. Chances Of Pregnancy?
Hi my name is Lilian, I saw my period on the 8th June and ovulated on the 22nd June but prior to that day, I made love 3 days before ovulation but didn't make love on the ovulation day,so in essence I made love on 19th, 20th and 21st June. I just did a pregnancy test today and its negative cos my next period is on the 6th July. Am worried cos I did everything possible and how come its still negative. And I made love 30th June is it still possible I will have a chance of being pregnant?
Pregnancy tests, both the blood tests and urine tests, look for HCG hormone. This hormone is released in pregnancy and its level rises as pregnancy progresses. Initially the level is low but it doubles every few days.
Some home pregnancy tests cannot detect low levels of this hormone so may not be able to confirm a pregnancy in the early stages. You can consider either using an early detection kit which can pick up lower level of the hormone or ask your doctor for a blood HCG level.
This would be able to tell you conclusively whether you are pregnant or not.
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
The chances of pregnancy are there in your case.
In my opinion you should consult a gynaecologist for urine, blood test and ultrasonography to rule out pregnancy.
So don't worry be positive, sometimes pregnancy test is positive after sometime.
Good luck.
Take care.
