Had Shortness Of Breath, Pressure Sensation, Unconsciousness. On Prilosec OTC And Thyroid Medication. What Is Going On?
About a week ago my thyroid meds were increased to 50 mg. I also had my stomach meds changed to Prilosec OTC, one in the morning 20 mg and one at night 20 mg. Today I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest, my breathing was short breaths. If I belched I felt a little better. I had went to the rest room and all of a sudden I felt pressure in my face and my heart started to pound hard. I got really weak felt like I was gonna pass out, started to shake. It finally passed but I am exhausted and I still don't feel like myself. Should I be concerned it's my heart or stomach issues?
The fact that the discomfort was relieved by belching would indicate that it is more likely related to the stomach.
The increased pulse rate can occur at any sign of distress and may have occurred because of the discomfort you were experiencing.
It would still be important to rule out heart disease however because this is associated more consequences. This would involve an ECG which would look at the heart rate, rhythm ,evidence of reduced blood supply or enlargement.
I hope this helps
